Regional service population in Qingdao West Coast New Area.

Regional Platform
Qingdao West Coast builds a regional AI medical service platform.
SenseCare connects imaging, pathology and multi-disease AI across medical alliances, grassroots hospitals and maternal-child screening scenarios.

Case Summary
Qingdao West Coast New Area
Qingdao West Coast New Area built a regional medical AI platform based on centralized deployment and multi-level use. The platform covers medical alliances, more than 20 grassroots hospitals and the district maternal and child health hospital, supporting CT, X-ray and pathology workflows.
Stored imaging data on the platform.
Approximate 2022 AI imaging computation volume.
Approximate 2022 pathology AI computation volume.
The platform covers 5 medical alliances, more than 20 grassroots hospitals and the maternal and child health hospital.
It stores about 30.24 TB of imaging data and 10 TB of pathology images.
The platform benefits a population of 2.32 million and supports more than 300 physicians in daily workflows.
In 2022, imaging AI computation reached about 250,000 cases and pathology AI computation about 110,000 cases.
Coronary CTA processing time was shortened to one sixth of the previous workflow, while cervical and breast cancer screening work can be compressed from a full day to 2-3 hours.
Regional deployment instead of isolated hospital tools
The project follows a 1+2+N architecture: one IDC foundation, two AI base platforms for imaging and pathology, and multiple SenseCare smart diagnosis applications.
Centralized deployment allows district hospitals and grassroots institutions to share AI capability, quality control and diagnostic resources across medical alliances.
AI supports both specialists and public-health screening
The platform covers lung, heart, chest X-ray, lower-limb, digestive and cervical scenarios across CT, X-ray and pathology images. Regional physicians can review AI results and complete diagnostic reports through the platform.
The same infrastructure supports population-scale screening: in maternal and child healthcare, about 25,000 cervical and breast cancer screening tasks can move from a heavy daily workload to a 2-3 hour AI-assisted workflow.
